Rightmove has released its monthly house price index figures showing a drop of almost £5,000 for the average asking price.

Scotland has overtaken London as the fastest-moving market for million-pound properties, with homes finding a buyer 25 days quicker on average than before the pandemic, according to new research from Rightmove.

Paisley has been recognised as the UK's top property hotspot, with asking prices in the town soaring by 15% over the past year.

The UK housing market had its busiest month for a decade in July as the value of property sales reached a record £37 billion, according to Rightmove.
