The Port of Aberdeen, the UK's oldest business, has posted a £25.7 million operating profit, up from £21.3m, for the year 2023.

North-east waste management and recycling firm EIS Waste Services Ltd has secured a £300,000 three-year contract with Port of Aberdeen. The comprehensive deal involves providing waste management and recycling services across the port's estate, from visiting vessels to office facilities.

In a significant turnaround, the Port of Aberdeen has reported a return to pre-pandemic activity levels in 2022, a year ahead of predictions.

Port of Aberdeen has announced plans to invest £55 million over the next decade in an effort to become the UK's first net zero port by 2040.
