A couple who employed three illegal workers at a Chinese takeaway in the Highlands have been banned as company directors. Yu Jian Chen, 39, and his wife Yunqin He, 38, recruited the workers, who were from China and Malaysia, at The Jade Garden in the village of Bonar Bridge.

August 2024 saw 102 company insolvencies registered in Scotland, 9% lower than the number in August 2023. The total number of company insolvencies was comprised of 56 CVLs, 42 compulsory liquidations, two administrations and two receivership appointments. There were no CVAs.
