Consumer Scotland

Consumer Scotland has released final guidance for public bodies in Scotland regarding the new consumer duty. This duty, introduced under the Consumer Scotland Act 2020 and passed by the Scottish Parliament, will come into full effect in April.

Legislation to establish a new consumer organisation has been unanimously passed by the Scottish Parliament. Consumer Scotland – a new body dedicated to protecting the interests of consumers – is expected to be operational next year.
