Opportunity to join our Board of Directors
Upkeep is a part of the Shettleston Housing Group of companies and is committed to our Vision of “Thriving and prosperous local communities where all residents enjoy great homes and services, an attractive physical environment, and good life chances”.
Upkeep has an annual turnover of £2.9M and employs over 40 staff members. We will shortly celebrate our twentieth anniversary as a social enterprise and are proud to:
- Provide quality and value for money, repair and void maintenance; estate caretaking and landscaping services to the residents of Shettleston HA and other local RSLs.
- Deliver local employability and training opportunities.
- Contribute to the wider development of the local community – in particular through our work on sustainability issues and the promotion of nature and bio-diversity in the area.
The company is now seeking to recruit two more volunteer Board directors who can help provide strategic direction to the organisation.
Around four Board meetings are held each year. Expressions of interest are welcome from all who have an interest in and commitment to our work and can fulfil the general requirements of being a Board Director. We are particularly seeking people who can bring skills and experience in the following areas:
- Financial / business management – in the private or voluntary sector.
- Experience of running a property maintenance company.
- HR /personnel knowledge and experience.
- Experience of being a resident in receipt of Upkeep’s services.
