Wylie & Bisset secures consumer credit authority from City watchdog
Wylie & Bisset LLP, one of Scotland’s longest established firms of Chartered Accountants, has secured full authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for Consumer Credit Activities following a rigorous assessment process.
The authorisation allows Wylie & Bisset to provide customers with comprehensive advice on ways to deal and manage problem debt as well as providing a range of investment business activities to their general practice clients.
To achieve the authorisation, the firm had to meet a range of stringent requirements set out by the FCA which reviewed business plans, risks, budgets, resources, systems, controls and examined whether key staff had the necessary qualifications, experience and ability to carry out their roles effectively.
Gordon Chalmers, partner and insolvency practitioner of Wylie & Bisset, said: “The FCA sets the bar very high in terms of the standards required to secure full authorisation. We are proud of our business, our people and the level of advice we provide to customers. We are delighted the FCA has granted us their seal of approval.
“This approval is in line with our strategy of continued improvement and development as a practice and service to our clients.”
