William Duncan bosses in 500 Challenge
Four senior members from accountancy firm William Duncan’s senior management team are to undertake arguably their most challenging fundraiser to date when they attempt to cycle 500 miles in 5 days from John o’Groats to Ayr via Skye and Arran next month.
The brave team consists of directors Stephen Bargh, Kevin Ottley, head of tax Alastair Johnston and audit manager Euan Pope.
All keen cyclists, the team are undertaking the challenge on behalf of the William Duncan Charitable Trust which donates funds to local worthy causes.
Half of all funds raised will be donated as a result of the challenge are to go to Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland in memory of team member Susan Hastings who tragically passed away earlier this year following a stroke.
The firm said Susan was an integral part of the William Duncan family and colleagues were “devastated to lose such a positive, valued and popular member of our team”.
It is hoped that as much as possible can be raised in her memory.
“The William Duncan 500 Challenge” will see the team cycle 500 miles in five days starting in John o’Groats, all the way along the North coast, down the West coast, arriving back in Ayr on Monday 27th August.
It’s not a relay – every cyclist will complete the full distance.
Every day in Scotland 25 people will have a stroke and Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland, through their campaign #NoLifeHalfLived, provide help and support to ensure that everyone in Scotland gets the care and support they need. Susan’s tragic passing spurred us on to pay tribute to her memory by raising funds to help others.
If you’d like to support the WDC 500 team, please visit our donations page online and help us raise funds for these good causes. All donations, large and small, make a massive contribution to both causes.
