WEEE Solutions secures £200,000 CBILS funding from Royal Bank of Scotland
Renfrewshire-based waste management firm WEEE Solutions has secured a £200,000 CBILS funding package from Royal Bank of Scotland which will be used to help the business stay afloat during the coronavirus pandemic.
Specialising in uplifting and processing waste electrical and electronic goods, WEEE Solutions employs 41 members of staff and remains confident that because of the CBILS funding, it will be able to retain the majority of their workforce post-COVID-19.
Currently, WEEE Solutions works across Scotland with clients in both the public and private sectors, including those in the waste, retail, industrial, commercial, transport and oil and gas industries with the majority pausing services temporarily as workplaces remain closed.
Graeme Douglas, director at WEEE Solutions, said: “Alike many other businesses, we have had to adapt to the pandemic quickly and efficiently whilst ensuring that our staff and customers’ welfare and safety is always at the forefront of decision-making.
“The excellent communication, time spent to understand our business and quick turnaround in securing the funding by the team at Royal Bank of Scotland, has given us significant confidence to operate a skeleton staff and ramp business back up when conditions allow.”
Despite a challenging period still ahead, WEEE Solutions is confident that the sector will have a bright future once it overcomes the next 18 months and is planning to expand its offering on exporting waste batteries and waste services for end of life electric vehicle batteries.
Andrew Scott, senior relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, added: “Helping our customers find the right financial solutions is crucial to helping them maintain business confidence as we all face an unprecedented disruption.
“We’re pleased to have supported WEEE Solutions and wish them the very best as business, hopefully, returns to some sort of normality in the near future.”
