Two appointments at VAT & Indirect Tax Advisors
Glasgow-based VAT & Indirect Tax Advisors (VITA) has expanded its team with two new appointments.
Chantal Scheepers joins the indirect tax advisory firm as practice manager and Rachael Moran joins as tax trainee.
Ms Scheepers brings a wealth of experience from her previous role at Investec, where she supported senior executives, and Ms Moran brings valuable skills from her tenure in the banking sector, most recently with Barclays.
Greg McNally, managing partner at VITA, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Chantal Scheepers and Rachael Moran to the team, to fill new roles as our practice manager and as a tax trainee.”
With the addition of these two professionals, VITA now boasts a team of six, including five advisors.
Mr McNally added: “We’re deliberately a top-heavy team, with two partners and an associate director – Chantal and Rachael will bring some balance and help us to strengthen our foundations to provide great client service.
“This strategic approach underscores our commitment to maintaining a robust and well-rounded team, capable of delivering exceptional service to our clients.”
VITA specialises in VAT and Duty, two well-established areas within the realm of indirect tax. Additionally, the firm has proactively dedicated leadership and resources, led by partner Craig Stobo, to focus on the emerging Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). This regulatory framework is already in effect within the European Union and is slated to be implemented in the United Kingdom starting on 1 January 2027.
Mr Stobo explained: “The firm plans to continue its growth trajectory by recruiting additional talent to address what we perceive as a gap in the market for indirect tax advice.
“For example, CBAM is transforming the trade and tax landscape, making it essential for SMEs to access practical, cost-effective advice. Smaller businesses often operate with tighter resources, so tailored guidance is crucial for staying compliant and competitive in an increasingly carbon-conscious market.
“At VITA, we focus on providing clear, actionable support to help both large corporates and SMEs navigate these changes efficiently and without unnecessary complexity.”
