University of Dundee celebrates 50 years’ teaching accounting and finance
The University of Dundee has announced that later this month it will host an event to celebrate 50 years of teaching accounting and finance.
The institution started out as a college when it was founded in 1881 and became an independent university in 1967 when it separated from St Andrews University. Five years later the university launched its accounting and finance department, which is part of the business school, making this year its 50th anniversary.
The celebration will be over the weekend of 26th and 27th August. At the celebration the university “will be focussing on the past, present and future of accounting/finance education at the University and looking at the department’s place in the University but also its place in the city”.
The university has also set up a memory board for the anniversary and invites former alumni to contribute their own photos.
