Two thirds of EY Inverness staff face redundancy
Nearly two-thirds of staff at accountancy firm EY’s Inverness office face redundancy, The Press and Journal reports.
EY is proposing to stop providing audit and account, compliance and reporting (ACR) services from its Inverness office, which places 35 of 55 jobs at the Highland office at risk. The work is set to be transferred to EY’s other Scottish offices and to Newcastle.
In a statement, the firm said: “EY can confirm that it is proposing to cease the provision of audit and account, compliance and reporting (ACR) services from the Inverness office.
“As a result it is with regret that 35 people have been placed at risk of redundancy and a consultation process has begun. We do of course hope to explore other opportunities for individuals within EY, if skills are transferable.
“EY remain committed to the Inverness market and our assurance business in Scotland as a whole.”
