CT has announced two significant appointments within its award-winning tax team.
Kerry Annand has been promoted to head of VAT. Having joined CT as a trainee 12 years ago, Ms Annand possesses extensive specialist knowledge across the full VAT spectrum.
This includes acquiring high level experience advising on changes to customs regulations following the 2016 Brexit vote. She also works closely with several independent schools supporting them on the recent imposition of VAT on fees, and with a broad range of heritage charities across the UK.
CT partner John Rodger said: “Kerry is a well-established and highly effective operator in the world of VAT with a wealth of practical experience across multiple sectors.
“Like myself, she is a one firm professional who has developed a formidable career to date over her 12 years at CT.”
As part of the growth of the firm’s tax team, CT has also announced the appointment of Craig Rothnie as its entrepreneurial tax lead. He joins from US-headquartered investment bank Morgan Stanley, where he served as a tax director building over a decade of experience as a tax adviser to owner managed businesses.
Based at CT’s Glasgow office, he brings significant experience in both compliance and advisory services including exit planning, buying and selling businesses, and corporate restructuring. Mr Rothnie is a specialist in equity incentivisation and venture capital schemes including the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) and Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS).
Lisa Travers, a partner at CT, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Craig to the firm to lead the delivery of entrepreneurial tax services as part of our broader Start Up & Scale Up offering.
“Over the course of his career, as well as his specialisms in equity incentivisation and venture capital schemes, Craig has developed broad and dynamic experience working with owner managed businesses from start-up to exit and can provide insight and solutions that extend beyond the immediate opportunity or challenge clients may be facing.
“This makes Craig ideal for this role supporting entrepreneurial clients who want to grow their business.”
