Two new hires for Baker Tilly’s Scottish consulting practice
Accountants Baker Tilly have made two senior appointments at their consulting practice in Scotland.
George Walker joins the firm’s technology consulting team as associate director while Dougie Graham, also associate director, will be part of the firm’s business consulting team.
Mr Walker, who will be based in the firm’s Glasgow office, will contribute to the development of Baker Tilly’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) offering, assisting clients with IT strategy reviews, system selection and implementation.
An ICAS qualified chartered accountant, he joins Baker Tilly from a FTSE100 company where he was responsible for managing the implementation and roll-out of the company’s global ERP solution, including a major upgrade. He has also worked as an IT service delivery manager for a global outsourcing company, following on from periods working in IT audit and advisory in a major accounting firm.
Mr Walker is also a non-executive director at Sportscotland, the national agency which aims to develop and support a world class sporting system in Scotland.
In his new role, Dougie Graham will cover all areas of the consulting business from the firm’s Edinburgh office. He has a background in process improvement and has led operational excellence teams and projects on a global basis within a FTSE100 organisation. He has a consulting background as well as experience of running his own business. Outside of work,
Mr Graham is a trained stunt performer and in his spare time enjoys a wide variety of sporting activities from high board diving and trampolining through to polevault and traditional rock climbing.
Robert Ross, UK head of consulting for Baker Tilly said: “We are investing significantly in our consulting practice to meet client demand and I am absolutely delighted to welcome George and Dougie on board. George has an excellent understanding of the needs and challenges of companies looking to implement or upgrade ERP systems. Dougie has been both a business owner and a business consultant, and his real world experience will be a strong draw for our clients. Importantly, these new hires mean we are now able to offer a full suite of consulting services to the Scottish market – along with a strengthened ability to deliver IT risk and assurance services to our clients.”
