Two new appointments in Aberdeen as Grant Thornton continues north east growth
Grant Thornton has appointed two new recruits in Aberdeen as the firm pushes forward with its growth strategy in the north east of Scotland.
The business and financial adviser has hired corporate finance manager Amy Gordon and corporate finance executive Iona McKay.
The pair will work alongside corporate finance directors, Barry Fraser and Ian Knott, who both joined last year.
Amy Gordon moves from GE Oil and Gas where she worked in the global Subsea Systems & Drilling business, while Iona McKay joins from Anderson Anderson & Brown where she advised a range of clients from various industry sectors.
Barry Fraser, corporate finance director at Grant Thornton in Aberdeen, said: “Amy and Iona have great technical knowledge and people skills, which is crucial to our growth strategy here in the north east. When Grant Thornton launched in Aberdeen last year, we made it clear that this is a long-term investment and a vote of confidence in the region. We’re starting to see a cautious recovery in parts of the energy sector and that will have a positive knock-on effect across all local industries. We plan to make further hires and play a leading role in helping to build a vibrant and sustainable future for the area.”
Ms Gordon, added: “I was drawn to Grant Thornton because of its positive outlook and growth strategy. It’s an exciting time to be in the business as it looks to expand here in Aberdeen and I’m really looking forward to working with our clients to help them exploit opportunities in the market.”
