Turcan Connell senior solicitor appointed president of Scottish Women in Business

Zaynab Al Nasser, a senior solicitor at Turcan Connell, has become one of the youngest Presidents of Scottish Women in Business (SWIB), a networking group for business women in the west of Scotland.

Zaynab said her plans for the year are centred around change, both in terms of how SWIB operates and supporting members who will be facing significant changes over the next twelve months.

The mission of SWIB is to facilitate the three C’s - communication, connection and collaboration - and in her first speech as President, Zaynab outlined some exciting developments.

She said: “There are changes that we have no control over but have to steer our businesses through - and in 2019 that change is Brexit. SWIB will be a source of support for members as we try to make the transition smoother for ourselves and our businesses.

“We need to be reminded sometimes to take time out for our own health and well-being, and, with this in mind, I am looking forward to launching a new SWIB Active programme.”

During her year in office, Zaynab will also be focussing on recruiting new members, with a view to broadening the range of businesses and sectors represented within the organisation.

SWIB will be hosting its second Awards Ceremony at the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow on Sunday 19th May 2019.
