Turcan Connell promotes 23 professionals across Tax and Legal divisions
Specialist firm Turcan Connell has today announced the promotion of 23 professionals including two legal directors, Mark McKeown and Heather Bruce and one tax director, Iain Alexander.
The promotions, which also include five senior associates, six associates, six senior solicitors, two tax managers and one paralegal, follow the firm’s recent investment in its land and property expertise with the arrival of rural property partner Murray Soutar and renewables specialist Lesley Roarty as legal director.
This round of promotions signals Turcan Connell’s continued focus on the development and retention of talented advisors and the firm’s commitment to delivering superior client services to individuals, families and business owners requiring complex legal and tax advice.
Ms Bruce will continue to provide expert advice in agricultural law. Accredited as a specialist in agricultural law by the Law Society of Scotland, she has exclusively focussed on this area of law since qualifying with Turcan Connell in 2007. Clients value Ms Bruce’s ability to apply her extensive knowledge in this complex area, to provide practical and tailored advice, both in a transactional context and where dispute resolution is needed.
The knowledge and skills Mr McKeown has developed in the area of philanthropy will allow him to build up this practice further in the firm. He is a member of the Charity Law Association, has served on the boards of several Scottish charities, and he regularly advises philanthropists on the legal and tax aspects of structuring their charitable giving effectively and efficiently.
Mr Alexander, a fellow of the Association of Tax Technicians provides tax advice to individuals, trusts and executries. He delivers income and capital gains tax planning advice to high-net-worth individuals and has established experience in advising on UK tax issues to international clients.
Chairman Alexander Garden said: “These promotions, combined with our recent lateral hires, show our commitment to supporting and delivering excellent service to our clients, whilst nurturing the next generation of talent across our areas of expertise, including tax and succession, land and property, business, employment, family and charity and philanthropy. I would like to take this opportunity to warmly congratulate our colleagues on their well-deserved promotions.”
