Aberdeen-based accountant and business advisory firm Infinity Partnership has been shortlisted for three prestigious awards.

The firm has been nominated for the small accountancy firm of the year award at the Scottish Accountancy and Finance Awards 2016.

Two members of its team have also been nominated for individual honours.

Infinity, which works with 1,000 businesses across the UK and further afield, assisted with the start-up of 74 new businesses in 2015 and holds a client retention rate of 99.5 per cent.

The business increased turnover from £1.36m in 2014 to £1.61m for its May, 2015 year-end, and is currently on track to increase turnover to £2m in 2016.

Managing director Simon Cowie has been nominated for the accountant of the year accolade at the same awards. In addition, client relations manager Greg Houston has been named as a finalist in the young accountant of the year category.

Greg, 29, started working with Infinity in 2012 and was promoted after he helped the business increase turnover by 146 per cent in two years. His role involves leading the Infinity team, as well as being responsible for the revenue streams generated by accountancy software solution, Sage.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday, June 16 at The Glasgow City Hotel.

Mr Cowie said: “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for these prestigious awards. It’s fantastic recognition for the entire Infinity team and highlights the company’s recent successes.

“The individual nominations for Greg and I are a further boost to the business and give us both a sense of achievement and pride.

“Greg is thoroughly deserving of this nomination as he has made a contribution beyond his years of experience through his hard work and commitment to providing clients with great service.”

Established in 2011, the firm was named as the winner in the Independent Firm of the Year, Scotland category at the British Accountancy Awards in London last year.

Simon Cowie was named Scottish Dealmaker of the Year in 2009 and 2014 at the Deals & Dealmakers Awards.
