Thorntons Investment Management appoints new Board member
An Aberdeen businessman has been appointed to the board of Thorntons Investment Management.
Colin Crosby, OBE, will join the Dundee investment house in June, taking on the role of non-executive director.
The qualified solicitor and accountant is the sixth appointment to the board and will oversee the delivery of the company’s five year growth strategy plan.
Mr Crosby ran the private client business of Aberdeen Asset Management until that business was sold to Brewin Dolphin where he was latterly a Consultant until 2014.
He was awarded an OBE in 1994 for his services to housing.
Speaking about his new role, he said: “I am pleased to be joining the board of Thorntons Investment Management. It has an ambitious business plan which is already breaking through its targets in record time and the experience and dedication within the team is evident.
“Ensuring this early success continues is paramount and I look forward to working with the team as we move forward.”
Mr Crosby chairs ARR Craib Visit Aberdeen and ACSEF is on the board of Internet for Business and sits on the Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland

The latest appointment comes as Thorntons IM reaches £350m of assets under management.
