Thomson Cooper appointed as administrator as Glasgow motor insurance firm stalls
Dunfermline-based accountancy firm Thomson Cooper has been appointed administrator of Glasgow based C&A Mackie Insurance Consultants Limited.
Administrator Richard Gardiner has now be appointed for the firm, an insurance provider predominantly for driving school operators and instructors throughout the UK, founded in 1990 by Carol Mackie.
Thomson Cooper said the business had recently suffered from cash flow difficulties and was unable to continue to trade.
Mr Gardiner has been able to secured the sale of the trade and assets to Kirkintilloch-based Hamilton Robertson Insurance Brokers Limited, with assistance from Quest Corporate, the corporate finance boutique.
Graeme Robertson, director at Hamilton Robertson, said: “C&A Mackie enjoys a strong brand reputation within the industry. We moved quickly to acquire the business to ensure minimum disruption and continuity of service for the clients.”
