Tax expert Ross Stupart to lead RSM in Scotland and NI

Ross Stupart, new regional managing partner for RSM in Scotland and Northern Ireland, and Alex Tait, previous regional managing partner, now head of risk and governance

RSM has named Ross Stupart as its new regional managing partner for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Currently the office managing partner for RSM’s Edinburgh office, where he will remain based, Mr Stupart will now also spearhead the firm’s growth strategy across the region. He will also continue in his tax partner role.

A prominent tax adviser with over 25 years’ experience, Mr Stupart joined RSM in 2017. He advises a diverse range of family-owned, owner-managed, and private equity-backed businesses on domestic and international tax matters, a role he will continue alongside his new leadership responsibilities. His focus will be on leading the regional team and positioning RSM as the primary adviser for middle-market businesses.

Mr Stupart said: “I am proud to take the reins as regional managing partner, leading our teams to help them grow their careers at RSM and support businesses throughout the region to thrive.

“The growth our business has experienced is a testament to our great team plus our ambitious and innovative clients.

“I’m looking forward to working with our teams across audit, tax and consulting, and all our industry experts to ensure that we deliver the integrated insights businesses in Scotland and NI need to allow them to excel.”

Mr Stupart succeeds Alex Tait, who transitions to a national role as RSM UK’s head of risk and governance within the consulting leadership team.

Mr Tait said: “I’m delighted to pass the baton on to Ross and have total confidence in his leadership skills.

“Our business in Scotland & Northern Ireland has more than doubled in turnover and staff since 2019 and I’m excited to see how our teams continue to grow and succeed under his watch, enabling middle market businesses across our region to reach their full potential.”
