Swedish bank provides financial backing for sale of Radio Forth offices

Swedish bank Svenska Handelsbanken AB (Handelsbanken) has agreed a multi-million loan to Thistle Property Group to acquire office buildings Forth House and Playfair House in central Edinburgh.
The offices are situated close to the St James development.
The former is let in its entirety to Radio Forth and the latter to various other occupiers, was sold from Property investment advisor London and Oriental (L&O) for £4.5 million.
National law firm Shoosmiths advised client Handelsbanken on the deal, with senior associate Sheelagh Cooley leading on the deal, with support from the real estate team, including trainee solicitor Chloe Shields.
Sheelagh said: “It was a pleasure to assist Handelsbanken in its dealings with Thistle on this occasion. We were aware that there was a lot of interest in these buildings and it was crucial to deliver clear and concise advice within a tight timescale.”
