Struck off lawyer who went on to embezzle from parcel firm jailed

A lawyer who stole clients’ money and contributed to the collapse of a parcel firm has been handed an eight-month jail sentence. David Nightingale, 35, from Cumbernauld, was previously convicted of defrauding clients while working as a defence lawyer. After being struck off he began working as a salesman for Prompt Parcel Ltd, where he embezzled £19,618 between April and December 2015. The company folded partly as a consequence of Mr Nightingale’s actions.
