Standard Life Wealth strengthens charities team with Edinburgh hire
Edinburgh-based discretionary fund manager, Standard Life Wealth, has announced the appointment of Gair Brisbane as senior client portfolio manager based in the Scottish capital.
Reporting to Mike Connor, head of the firm’s Edinburgh Office, Mr Brisbane will have responsibility for managing the investment portfolios for charity clients.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr Connor, said: “We are delighted that Gair Brisbane has joined Standard Life Wealth. He has extensive experience managing charity portfolios and will work with our Charities Team to further develop our relationships with the sector.
“We have ambitious plans to grow our charity business and Gair is an excellent addition to the team given his first-hand knowledge of the investment and governance issues facing charities.”
Mr Brisbane joins Standard Life Wealth from Brown Shipley Private Bank where he specialised in charity investment management.
Prior to that, he worked for Barclays Wealth and Investment Management where he managed portfolios for both charity and private clients. Before moving into investment management, Mr Brisbane was a regional director for the Royal Air Forces Association charity, giving him direct experience working in the sector.
He is also a trustee of the Officers’ Association Scotland military charity.
Standard Life Wealth, with offices in London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol and Leeds, and an offshore presence in the Channel Islands, provides both target return and conventional investment strategies for private clients, trust companies and charities.
