Speirs & Jeffrey appoints new director

Glasgow-based investment firm Speirs & Jeffrey has announced the appointment of James Wilson as deputy chief executive and as a director of the business.

With over 25 years financial services experience across a spectrum of investment management and wealth businesses, Mr Wilson has a strong legal and regulatory background, the firm said.

His previous roles include time at the Law Society of Scotland and the Financial Services Authority, RBS and Standard Life. Most recently he was an Executive Director of TD Wealth International.



Speirs & Jeffrey chairman Graham Waddell, said: “Given the breadth of James’s experience and his excellent leadership credentials I am delighted to have him take on this role. This is a significant appointment which will further strengthen the experience of the Board.”

Mr Wilson himself said: “Speirs & Jeffrey has a fantastic pedigree and reputation in the industry. I look forward to working with colleagues to continue to develop the business and the services we offer to clients.”

S&J employs over 150 staff at its single office in central Glasgow with 32 qualified investment managers and an experienced research team of seven.
