John Cornwall and Annie Howie have been hired as investment managers, while Selassi Spence has been named SIS’s new data and insights manager.

Mr Cornwall joins from the Royal Bank of Scotland where he spent more than three decades across personal, business and corporate banking teams. Most recently he was a commercial banking relationship manager with a portfolio of both commercial and third sector customers with annual turnover levels up to £25 million.

Ms Howie brings more than 25 years’ experience across various sectors encompassing investment banking, not-for-profit and start-ups. In 2014 she co-launched Bala Sport, a social enterprise encouraging the use of ethically produced, fairtrade sports balls.

As investment managers, Mr Cornwall and Ms Howie will be responsible for maintaining existing relationships with social enterprises and charities that have benefitted from financial support from SIS, as well as growing the customer network and in turn, increasing the overall impact of its activities.

Ms Spence comes to SIS from Stewart Investors where she has spent nearly seven years as a relationship associate and previously as a data analyst. She also holds a postgraduate certificate in Sustainable Business from the University of Cambridge. As data and insights manager, Ms Spence will support SIS’s measurement and evaluation of the ongoing impact of its investments and funding.
