SIMEC Atlantic, which operated the MeyGen tidal energy programme in the Pentland Firth, said that he will step down from his post as chief finance officer today, but will remain at the firm as an executive director.

Mr Dagley will also lead the financing of the company’s Uskmouth waste to energy conversion initiative, The Insider reports.

He joined SIMEC Atlantic in 2014 from IFM Investors, having previously worked with a range of superannuation infrastructure investors, renewable energy project developers and Flinders Corporate Finance.

Mr Dagley will be superseded by Stephen Hutt, who joined Atlantis as part of the acquisition of Green Highland Renewables in 2019. Mr Hutt will take up his new role from 1 March, but will not joined the board. He will be based at the company’s head office in Edinburgh.

Tim Cornelius, CEO of Atlantis, said that Mr Dagley had played a key role in transforming the company from a marine energy specialist into a leading developer of renewable and sustainable energy projects driven by acquisitions in the hydro and waste to energy sectors.
