Shepherd and Wedderburn announces new commercial partner promotion in Aberdeen
Law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn has confirmed the promotion to partner of corporate lawyer in Aberdeen, John Rutherford.
The promotion coincides with Shepherd and Wedderburn’s acquisition of long-established Aberdeen firm, The Commercial Law Practice, on 1 January 2017.
Mr Rutherford joined Shepherd and Wedderburn in April 2016 as a consultant charged with helping the firm grow its operations in Aberdeen and throughout the north east.
As a partner, he will head up the firm’s corporate team in Aberdeen and the north east, and will continue to be integrally involved in the further developments planned for later in the year.
In addition to the corporate advice provided by Rutherford and fellow corporate partner, Keir Willox, and the commercial real estate service headed by partner Mike Anderson, the expanded Aberdeen practice is now able to offer clients an enhanced raft of advice in areas such as litigation; planning; banking & finance; rural; and private client.
Mr Rutherford said: “It has been a busy and exciting time for myself and my colleagues in Aberdeen and also across our other offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London. I look forward to helping our clients, both old and new, find the right solutions to enable them to forge ahead in what are undoubtedly challenging and uncertain times.″
