Senior William Duncan staff to embark on 500 Challenge

This month sees a team of four accountants from William Duncan + Co undertake a gruelling “500 miles in 5 days” cycling challenge, from John o’Groats, along the north, and down the west coasts, via Skye and Arran to Ayr.

Setting off on 23rd August, the William Duncan 500 Challenge will provide a serious physical and mental test for directors Stephen Bargh and Kevin Ottley, head of tax Alastair Johnstone and audit manager Euan Pope.

The lycra clad accountants will be undertaking the challenge to raise funds for the William Duncan + Co Charitable Trust which donates to many and varied local community causes and charities.

Half of all funds raised from this challenge will be donated directly to Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland in memory of their colleague, Susan Hastings, who tragically passed away earlier in the year after suffering a stroke at the untimely age of 45.

Director at William Duncan, Stephen Bargh, who is part of the 4 man team undertaking this epic journey said: “Susan was an integral part of the William Duncan family and we were devastated to lose such a positive, valued and popular member of our team.

“By raising funds in Susan’s name and donating to both Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland as well as other worthy local causes, we hope in some small way to remember Susan and her kindness and friendship.”

The costs of the WDC500 cycle challenge are being met in full by William Duncan + Co and all monies raised will go directly to CHSS and the William Duncan Charitable Trust. It would be fantastic if people felt they could show their support by making a small donation…all donations, no matter what size, will make a difference.
