Senior appointments to hasten growth at Blackhall & Powis
Blackhall & Powis has appointed Rick Campbell as a director to support growth plans and maturing projects across the business.
The firm is a specialist provider of consultancy services for developers and acquiring authorities in the low carbon energy and infrastructure sector and operates across the UK from offices in Glasgow, Tunbridge Wells, York, Inverness and Aberdeen.
Rick will help Blackhall & Powis grow and consolidate its services in the offshore wind market, as well as identifying new opportunities in the development of onshore wind, solar and storage. This will ensure the business continues to diversify and underpin growth plans. His appointment aligns with Blackhall & Powis’ ambition to grow to a £30 million business within a decade.
Rick said: “What a great opportunity to join such an enterprising business at an important time in its growth journey. Blackhall & Powis has made great strides since forming seven years ago growing the headcount by 50 per cent in the last year alone, and between 2023 and 2024 grew the business by over 100 per cent, increasing turnover to £6m.
“I’m very much looking forward to working with brilliant colleagues and clients. The opportunity in renewables is significant and it goes a long way to helping Scotland and the UK play their parts in the journey to net zero.”
Rick’s previous experience spans almost two decades in renewables, including multiple roles in Scottish Power Renewables’ offshore wind development team, head of offshore markets at Natural Power and vice president of development at Kontiki Winds.
John Hillis, managing director of Blackhall & Powis, said of the appointment: “We’re delighted that Rick made the decision to join B&P and are privileged to be welcoming him to the B&P family. His skills and experience are first class and complement our team so well. We’re excited about building our business with him.”
