WeDO search on for Scotland’s top business talent
WeDO Scotland have launched their annual search to find the top talent in the Scottish business community, to be announced on the 24th of May at their annual Awards Ceremony & Dinner in Edinburgh.
Now in their ninth year, the WeDO Scottish Business Awards celebrate business growth, success and entrepreneurship.
This year, 3 brand new Award categories have been announced, all of which are open to both WeDO members and non-members from every business sector throughout Scotland.
The new Awards recognise the wider business community, as well as Scotland’s leading entrepreneurs and include Scottish Product of the Year, Intrapreneur of the Year and International Exporter of the Year.
These add to the existing categories awarded in previous years including Rising Star, New Start Business, Young Entrepreneur, Inspiring Leader, High Growth Company and Entrepreneur of the Year.
WeDO founder Awards,Belinda Roberts, said: “Scotland is renowned for having a huge diversity of talent, not only in the entrepreneurial community, but also within Scottish businesses as a whole. As well as our abundance of outstanding entrepreneurs, there is also a wealth of inspiring and business leaders in larger corporate organisations. We wanted to diversify our Awards this year to reflect the growth of our Corporate Membership community; we welcome the many benefits in peer-to-peer learning from, and collaboration with, the leading talent in these larger companies.”
She added: “Year on year, semi-finalists and finalists report that they have not only found the process highly beneficial in terms of encouraging them to take time to focus ‘on’ their businessrather than ‘in’ it, but have also gained valuable advice and introductions from the judges. We look forward to receiving nominations and applications from the top talent in Scotland and to celebrating the success of Scottish businesses.”
As in previous years, the judges have been selected from WeDO’s Executive teams and this year, Marcus Pickering, co-founder of Scottish multi-award Pickering’s Gin, winner of the 2017 WeDO Entrepreneur of the Year Award will be joining the panel. The judging process entails 2 shortlisting stages including a video submission before the 2 finalists in each category are interviewed by the judging panel.
Applications and nominations for the Awards are now open here.
