Scottish third sector chief Mark O’Donnell joins KPMG as senior manager
Former third sector chief executive Mark O’Donnell has joined KPMG UK’s Infrastructure Government and Healthcare (IGH) team as a senior manager.
Mr O’Donnell joins the firm from the Sight Scotland Group where he was chief executive, recently leading a significant restructuring programme to increase the charity’s impact, profile and sustainability. Prior to this he was chief executive of Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland.
Mark will be based in Edinburgh helping to deliver high quality advice and support to Scotland’s public sector. He brings with him over 20 years of experience working across various public sector bodies, including NHS Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service and the Scottish Government.

Mark O’Donnell said: “I’m really pleased to join KPMG at such a crucial time for public sector services in Scotland, and I’m looking forward to working across challenging projects. Our clients are under increasing pressure with growing demands on their services, strain on resources and the challenges that the pandemic has brought. I’m passionate about making a positive difference and know my experience working across the public and third sector can help a wide range of organisations find solutions to complex problems.”
David Gimson, director, IGH Consulting – Scotland, KPMG in the UK, added: “I’m delighted Mark has joined our team. He brings great experience across the public and third sector and his insight into leadership, transformational change and delivering person centred services is a brilliant addition to our practice and for our clients in Scotland. Mark has made a fantastic contribution to public services in Scotland throughout his impressive career already, and I look forward to him continuing to do so within his new role at KPMG.”
