Scottish Investment Trust appoints new non-executive chairman
The Scottish Investment Trust (SIT) has appointed James Will as non-executive chairman of the company.
The appointment was made at SIT’s AGM on Friday.
Mr Will was previously appointed as a non-executive director to SIT’s board in May 2013.
He is a former chairman of law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP where he was a senior corporate partner, heading its financial sector practice and has extensive experience of working with companies in a wide range of industry sectors including financial services, technology, energy and life sciences.
He is currently a non-executive director of Herald Investment Trust PLC and is a former council member of CBI Scotland.
With the appointment of his successor as chairman, Douglas McDougall retired from the SIT’s board at the conclusion of Friday’s AGM.
Mr Will said: “The Board and I would like to thank Douglas for his leadership and contribution to The Scottish Investment Trust as a director and as chairman. SIT offers investors low cost access to global investment opportunities and has a long track record of dividend growth. I look forward to working with the management team and the Board to continue to provide a long-term attractive return for shareholders.”
