Scottish drivers face highest increase to insurance premiums
Drivers in Scotland face the highest increase to car insurance prices with an increase of 8.4 per cent as the average yearly premium reaches £580.
Research conducted by Consumer Intelligence has said the increase is due to inflation and because claims have put upward pressure on premiums, The Times reports.
Mike Miskelly, Consumer Intelligence’s insights manager, said: “It was only a matter of time until we saw this come through at a market level.”
The national average cost has increased by 7.8 per cent putting the Scottish price increase 0.6 points ahead.
