Scottish auction firm expands Aberdeenshire presence with new business development hire

William McBey

Auction House Scotland has strengthened its local presence in Aberdeenshire with the addition of William McBey to its team.

Mr McBey, joining as a business development executive, will focus on building partnerships with estate agents, solicitors, and other property professionals in the area.

With over 25 years of experience in the Aberdeenshire property market, McBey is excited to dive into the auction industry.

When asked about his thoughts on the current property market in Aberdeenshire, he stated: “The general price of properties has fallen by about 10% over the last 5-10 years or so.

“Areas like Cults and Bielside are becoming sought after areas of Aberdeen – I think Aberdeenshire is better than the city, but that’s just my opinion!”

Highlighting the promising growth in Aberdeenshire, Mr McBey believes that house prices could go up this year due to “demand for good quality housing”.

He also pointed out the increased development activity in the region: “It seems that there are more housing schemes being built across the Shire compared to Aberdeen.

“In the small town of Oldmeldrum, for example, there are a couple of housing projects getting built so it’s getting bigger by the day.”
