Scott-Moncrieff builds on housing association expertise with key client win

Scott MoncrieffBusiness advisers and accountants Scott-Moncrieff has won a competitive tender to deliver internal audit support to the Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA).

The successful bid comes on the back of other client gains in the sector, including Key Housing Group, and Waverley Housing Association, which both began working with the firm this year.

Scott-Moncrieff now provides internal and external audit, IT, accountancy services, VAT and LEAN support to social housing clients representing around a quarter of the Scottish housing association sector.

Jennifer Alexander, audit director at Scott-Moncrieff, said: “This win really underlines our dominance in the housing association sector, with clients from the Hebrides right down to the Borders. With so much going on in the sector, we are looking forward to working alongside SBHA to add value, support good practice to the benefit of their tenants. The win also complements other work we do in the Borders, with housing associations and major public bodies, such as NHS Borders.”

SBHA is one of the largest housing associations in Scotland with 5,669 homes and an annual turnover of just under £19 Million.

Currently employing 196 Staff, the Association received the Investors in People Accreditation earlier this year.

SBHA serves 40 settlements in the Scottish Borders and will invest over £14 Million this year in Tenant’s homes including regeneration and new-build projects.

SBHA is very much a Tenant-focused organisation, winning the Tenant Participation Advisory Service good practice award - Tenant Participation Champion of 2015 (Project).
