Scots more optimistic about personal finances than British average – R3

Three-in-10 Scottish adults (29 per cent) think their financial situation will improve over the next six months, slightly higher than the figure for all British adults of 22 per cent.

Overall, 40 per cent of Scottish adults say they are worried about their current level of debt, a figure which has risen by four percentage points since earlier this year (February 2017: 36 per cent), but which is consistent with the overall figure for all British adults of 41 per cent (unchanged since February).

Of the two-in-five Scottish adults who say they are worried about their current level of debt:



Two fifths of Scottish adults (42 per cent) say they often or sometimes struggle to payday, a similar proportion to the average for all British adults (40 per cent).
