Scotmid Co-operative announces Craig Strachan as new CFO
Scotmid Co-operative has appointed Craig Strachan as its new chief financial officer.
Mr Strachan has been a familiar face within the Scotmid family for the past five years, originally founding The Start-Up Drinks Lab in 2017. During this venture, he built a strong rapport with former Scotmid CFO John Dalley and CEO John Brodie.
Before his entrepreneurial pursuits, Mr Strachan gained extensive experience in finance with PwC, where he secured his Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) qualification, focusing mainly on taxation, mergers and acquisitions.
He subsequently joined Arnold Clark in a commercial finance role, working on various acquisitions, process improvements and general business growth.
Mr Strachan said: “My first three months with the society have been fantastic and I’ve already met so many great people.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to work closely and get a comprehensive handover from John Dalley – certainly big shoes to fill!”
