Saltire Foundation celebrates launch of sixth and largest 26-strong fellowship programme

The Saltire Fellowship is specifically designed to equip Scots, and non-Scots wishing to relocate to Scotland, many of whom already run their own companies, with the skills required to become successful business leaders.

The cohort comprises eight women and 18 men aged between 23 and 50, with backgrounds in a range of business sectors including finance, construction, life sciences and professional sport. The Fellows will set off later this week for a life-changing experience which combines practical business experience and study at world-leading business school, Babson College in Massachusetts, USA.

Sandy Kennedy, chief executive of Entrepreneurial Scotland, said: “We are delighted to have successfully launched our sixth cohort of Saltire Fellows which, to our great pleasure, includes four international fellows, from Chile, Indonesia, Switzerland and France and two Commonwealth Games athletes, one of whom has recently been awarded an MBE.”

“The Saltire Fellowship aims to create a steadily-expanding pipeline of confident, entrepreneurial and driven leaders who are ready to enhance Scotland’s commercial reputation in the global arena.”

The Fellowship programme fast tracks business leaders through an in-depth academic experience at Babson College as well as giving them hands-on delivery of live projects in international firms.

The Fellows will be exposed to world-class networks both in Scotland and globally and they will have access to Saltire Foundation alumni, a life-long support network aimed at continually improving their personal skills.

The Saltire Foundation was established by GlobalScots in 2007 with a mission to find, fuel and spark Scotland’s human potential, in turn creating our next generation of business leaders.
