Accounting and tax advisory firm Saffery has strengthened its Edinburgh team with four new appointments, including private wealth director Joshua Creedy.

This follows the recent announcement of its office move to Haymarket Square later this year to accommodate its growing team, which advises clients across the private client, landed estates, not for profit, real estate and corporate sectors.

Mr Creedy joined the firm in May 2024. He advises clients on a wide range of issues including inheritance and succession planning, property and business investments and disposals and cross-border non-resident and non-domicile matters. Prior to joining Saffery, Mr Creedy trained as a Chartered Accountant and tax advisor and worked for almost a decade at a Big Four firm.

Saffery has also appointed Yi Zheng as sustainability and ESG manager, enhancing its client offering in this area.

Anny Chan and Sam Stone have also joined the Edinburgh office as data administrator and trainee chartered accountant respectively.

Sean McGinness, partner and head of the Edinburgh office, said: “I would like to warmly welcome all our new joiners and very much look forward to working with each of them as we expand in Edinburgh, and develop our offering to meet the needs of our client base which continues to grow and diversify.

“Taken together our Edinburgh team is now more than 60-strong, and with the upcoming move to our new city centre premises we are ideally positioned to support the continued development of our team and to help our clients succeed in their markets.”

Mr Creedy said: “This is a really exciting time for Saffery and I am thrilled to have joined the team.

“Nine Haymarket Square, the location for our upcoming office relocation, is a fantastic space and will allow the Edinburgh team to continue to grow our offerings across service lines.

“The Edinburgh practice has grown 30% over the past three years both in terms of headcount and turnover and I’m looking forward to playing a part in its continued expansion.”
