Mr Cummings takes over from Jackie Callaway, who announced this summer that she was leaving the group to take up her new role at Coats Group.

Mr Cummings is currently the chief financial officer of Asahi International, part of the Asahi Group Holdings, the Japanese global beer, spirits, soft drinks and food business.

He has also spent 14 years at beer giant SABMiller in a variety of finance roles, The Scotsman reports.
