Revenue boost for Dundee-based ATM advertising company

A Dundee-based company which develops software for ATM machines saw its revenue increase by 28 per cent last year, The Courier reports.

i-design Multimedia, which develops third-party advertising systems for ATM machines, increased its turnover to £6.7 million for the year ending 31 December 2016, compared with £5.2 million in 2015. Pre-tax profits increased to £1.6 million last year from £1 million in 2015.

Director Jana Hile said: “During the year the company secured an additional overseas client which, with additions from existing clients, took the number of licensed ATMs to 42,000; an increase of 5,000 on the previous year.

“The company continues to sell consultancy services and recognised revenues from both existing and new clients for these services.

“The number of ATMs available for third-party advertising increased by 4,000 to 14,000, including availability of ATMs from the UK banking that was secured in 2015.”

i-design’s software arm specialises in the delivery of future-proof solutions for global banking networks and includes clients such as RBS, Santander, Cardtronics Inc., Eurobank, Nationwide Building Society and CIBC.

Its specialist consultancy division provides insight and expertise in optimising digital multi-channel marketing for clients including Travelex, Santander, Barclays, CIBC and Tesco Bank.

i-design was founded in 1991 by Duncan of Jordanstone graduate Ana Stewart, who floated it on the alternative stock exchange in 2007. It was acquired by US company Cardtronics Inc. in 2013 and Ms Stewart resigned as a director in April.
