RBS offers a boost to small business growth in the North East
Royal Bank of Scotland’s new business programme aimed at driving small business growth is to come to Aberdeen next Tuesday (February 19).
Boost is an initiative designed to help companies move forward by establishing the right connections between businesses and offering access to relevant experts and resources.
Through a dedicated digital portal, small businesses can get access to valuable business insight and be connected to a team of Business Growth Enablers operating across Scotland.
Operating regionally, their local knowledge and networks can connect businesses with each other, provide hands-on expertise and training, and will host regular workshops and events in their locales.
Mark Crimmins, managing director of business banking at Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “Small businesses represent more than half of all private employment in Scotland and the North East is a powerhouse for activity for the country.
“The sector is crucial to the economic success of the Scottish economy and it is important that as a bank for Scotland we do everything that we can to help them prosper.
“Tuesday’s event at Pittodrie will offer insights from some key voices from the local business community as well as the opportunity to ask questions of the region’s business influencers.”
The Aberdeen event is entirely free and is open to businesses across Scotland.
It will feature a networking session as well as a series of workshops and presentations from expert speakers including Andrew Dobbie, founder of marketing and design agency Made Brave.
There will be a Q&A panel from local business voices including Anke Heggie from Scottish Enterprise and Free Agent’s Andy King.
Business banking director Keith Pope will also be in attendance.
Paul Hayhoe of hospitality and tourism accountants Hayhoe Webb Consultancy, was one of 400 company owners who attended a recent Boost event in Edinburgh.
The business, which works for clients including Hendrick’s Gin, said: “Edinburgh Boost was absolutely excellent. High quality networking events like this are invaluable for SMEs and having the time between agenda items to discuss the issues raised was a really great opportunity.”
