RBS funds purchase of Moness Resort in Perthshire
Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has financially supported Perth-based company J&S McKenzie’s purchase of Moness Resort and Aberfeldy Caravan Park.
RBS has provided the family-run business with a seven-figure funding package to help them to make the purchase.
Owners of J&S McKenzie Group, John and Steven McKenzie, have been involved with the Moness Resort since 2013, which makes the business the perfect organisation to build upon the reputation and grow the popular resort.
Moness Resort has been open for over 30 years, catering to the demands of Scotland’s tourists. The resort employs more than 100 people from the local community. It contains 106 self-catering cottages, a four-star hotel, with a spa and leisure facilities. John and Steven also plan to upgrade the resort’s facilities and introduce hot tubs and dog-friendly cottages for guests.
Director at J&S McKenzie Group, Steven McKenzie, said: “We’ve been involved in the Moness Resort for a number of years and are pleased to now have the opportunity to enhance the resort, which is close to our hearts. We’ll also be able to further support the local community with refurbishment works by contracting local businesses. Royal Bank of Scotland has been instrumental in supporting our ambitions for the business and we are extremely grateful for their guidance throughout the process.”
Relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, Jason Cram, said: “John and Steven are well-positioned to build on the reputation of Moness Resort and continue to grow the business, thanks to their previous involvement and extensive local experience. The resort brings a significant benefit to the local economy and we wish John and Steven continued success in the future.”
