Lombard, the asset finance arm of Royal Bank of Scotland, has announced the appointment of Jim Findlay to its board.

Mr Findaly, who has worked in asset finance for nearly two decades, most recently for Dell Financial Services where he was their UK sales director, will take up the role of relationship director for west and north Scotland for Lombard’s specialist technology division, Lombard Technology Services (LTS).

While his career has taken him across the UK and beyond, Mr Finally’s new appointment means he has come full circle to return to Glasgow where his financial career started at RBS.

He will work with Colm Courtney who covers East Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Both form part of Lombard’s team which is overseen by Nick Mayberry, regional sales director, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Mr Mayberry said: “I’m delighted to have someone with Jim’s experience on board for LTS in Scotland. His expertise will be highly valuable to our technology customers and his appointment is evidence of LTS’s growing standing across the region.”

Mr Findlay, who lives in Erskine, Renfrewshire, added: “It’s good to be back on home territory and I’m looking forward to working closely with our LTS customers in Scotland to help them achieve their technology ambitions. As a company, we’re going from strength to strength as more businesses recognise the benefits of leasing technology, as well as the wider services provided by LTS, and I’m excited to be a part of this.”
