RBC Brewin Dolphin has promoted four investment managers at its Edinburgh office.

Sandy Lyell and James Pearse have become directors, while Caroline Whytock and Scott McKean become assistant directors.

Mr Lyell, who is a Chartered Accountant (ACA qualified) and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), joined the RBC Brewin Dolphin Edinburgh office in 2010. He was most recently a portfolio manager looking after a range of clients including private individuals, multigenerational families and trusts. He also helps corporates such as entrepreneurs or owners who have exited businesses and require investment advice.

Mr Pearse joined RBC Brewin Dolphin as a trainee investment manager in 2015. He gained experience in various teams, qualifying as investment manager in 2018 and rising to assistant director by 2022. Although he works with some trusts and pension schemes, he primarily helps private clients.

Mr Pearse is a Chartered Wealth Manager and a Chartered Fellow of CISI.

Ms Whytock, who is also a Chartered Wealth Manager, began her financial services career at RBC Brewin Dolphin as a graduate in 2015. She is now an investment manager in the Edinburgh office, managing portfolios for private clients including individuals and trusts.

She has particular interest in and knowledge of ethical investing and as such is an ESG (environmental, social and governance) ambassador for the Edinburgh office. This includes giving presentations such as webinars externally to clients and internally to fellow RBC Brewin Dolphin colleagues.

Fellow investment manager Mr McKean joined the firm in 2015. He has a Chartered Wealth Manager qualification from CISI.
