Hall Morrice welcomes 14 new recruits
Aberdeen-based accountancy firm Hall Morrice has hired 14 new staff members.
The new positions, which include nine chartered accountant trainees – the firm’s largest intake ever – three accountancy placement students from Robert Gordon University (RGU), an audit/business advisory administrator, and an intern, all start in July and early August.
The recruitment drive marks continued significant expansion for Hall Morrice, which now has a total headcount of 83 staff, a rise of 30% in 12 months and up by 51% over a five-year period.
The firm has experienced strong growth in recent months, securing new clients and increasing the volume of work from existing clients across various sectors, such as oil and gas, energy and renewables, business services, agriculture, health and medical, and construction.
Bob Bain, managing partner at Hall Morrice, said: “We are delighted to welcome our fourteen new team members, who bring fresh talent and enthusiasm to our firm.
“We have always been committed to investing in our people and providing opportunities for career development, especially for young graduates who are looking to pursue a rewarding career in accountancy.
“Our firm has a proven track record of nurturing our staff from within and supporting them through their professional qualifications. Many of our senior managers and directors started their careers as trainees with us and have progressed to leadership positions. We are confident that our new recruits will follow in their footsteps and become valuable assets to our firm and our clients.”
The new appointments follow a series of promotions and career progressions at Hall Morrice. In April this year, Chris Colville took up the role of tax director and three of the team were promoted to manager and senior manager roles, while Jack Borg-Delaney was appointed to the newly created position of audit director in January. In October last year, four staff members were promoted to the roles of managers and assistant managers.
Louise Smith, audit and accounts director at Hall Morrice, who herself began at the firm as a CA trainee in 2007, said: “These are exciting times for Hall Morrice, as we continue to grow and enhance our services to meet the needs of our diverse client base.
“Our firm has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality accountancy and business advisory services, and we are always looking to improve and innovate.
“Our new hires will help us to achieve our strategic goals and maintain our standards of excellence and client satisfaction. We look forward to working with them and supporting them in their professional development.”
