Proserv appoints Julie Thomson as chief financial officer
Aberdeen-based technology firm Proserv has appointed Julie Thomson as chief financial officer.
Ms Thomson is a chartered accountant with over two decades of experience in the energy sector. Most recently, she held the role of finance director of the Europe and Africa region at oil and gas company Weatherford International.
Last October, Proserv completed a corporate realignment that saw the formation of two standalone divisions: Proserv Controls, based at the firm’s Aberdeen head office, and Gilmore, a Proserv Company, which operates out of Houston.
Prior to her appointment at Wetherford, Ms Thomson worked as the financial controller in the Eastern Hemisphere region of Dailey International Inc. She was also an audit manager at KPMG from 1992 -1996.
Ms Thompson also holds a first-class honours degree in business studies from Robert Gordon University.
She replaces Andy Cooksey, who held the role of interim group CFO since June last year.
As well as overseeing the finance functions across Proserv Controls and Gilmore, Ms Thomson will also head up the corporate legal, IT and enterprise resource planning teams.
Ms Thomson said: “I look forward to building on the significant progress that has already been made positioning Proserv for profitable and sustainable growth, and positively contributing to the company’s strategic priorities.”
David Currie, Proserv chief executive, said: “Following our realignment in 2019, we conducted an extensive international search to secure the right candidate for this crucial role within our business. Julie meets the very high specification we set for this role and I am excited someone of her proven experience and calibre is joining our leadership team.”
