Popular Callander café reopens its doors following £180k RBS backing

Puddingstone Place, Callander

A popular café and restaurant in Callander has undergone extensive refurbishment, thanks to a £180,000 funding package from Royal Bank of Scotland.

Puddingstone Place, formerly known as Munchy’s Café and Restaurant, is a popular eatery in Callander open throughout the day, and currently has a 4.5 out of 5 score on TripAdvisor.

The six-figure funding package has been used to purchase the business, as well as refurbish and rebrand the property.

First-time business owner, Tracey Blair, opened the restaurant in 2017, which created six jobs in the local area.

Speaking of the refurbishment, Tracey said: “I would like to thank Royal Bank of Scotland for all the help it has provided in purchasing and refurbishing the business. It feels great to own this restaurant, and really put our stamp on it as the new Puddingstone Place.

“I am passionate about providing great food and a welcoming service to all who pass through these doors, and I’m hopeful that the business will continue to grow thanks to our loyal customers.”

Sarah Delo, broker development manager for Royal Bank of Scotland, worked with the business, as well as Deana Baird, relationship manager for Royal Bank of Scotland.

Deana said: “It is clear to see that the enthusiasm and determination of Tracey will make Puddingstone Place a huge success in the local area. I am glad that we could provide the support needed to realise its full potential, and I look forward to visiting the newly refurbished café soon.”
