Perthshire property market has ‘turned a corner’

Perthshire Solicitors Property CentreThe Perthshire property market has ‘turned a corner’ according to one of the area’s leading property networks.

As Perthshire Solicitors Property Centre collate their three quarter year statistics for 2015, it has emerged that September has been the best sales month of the year, and that the Summer months of July, August and September have combined to produce the best Summer season in years.

It is also becoming commonplace for properties to achieve their asking price, again a noteable change in the market compared to previous years, and properties are also selling more quickly than before.

Overall, the current position at the end of the third quarter of 2015, is on a par with 2014, with 664 properties sold so far this year, at a total sales value of just over £118M.

Again, as the PSPC looked at the year to date, the average property has sold for £178,603.

Anne Begg, manager, PSPC said: “Looking at last month alone, September was our best sales month of the year, having sold 105 properties in just one month, meaning that the third quarter of the year – the Summer essentially – was an excellent quarter overall. It’s also becoming the norm for properties to achieve their asking price, more viewings are taking place and properties are shifting much more quickly – all in all, the market has turned a corner. What’s more, with November 2014 being last year’s best sales month, we are confident that the level of activity will stay constant in the weeks ahead.”
