Perth solicitor sets global standard in bid for Taxation of Trusts and Estates qualification
A senior solicitor at Scottish law firm Gillespie Macandrew’s has achieved top marks in a prestigious qualification from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Lindsay Bryce MacKay of Gillespie Macandrew’s Perth office has recently completed the Advanced Certificate in Taxation of Trusts and Estates (Scotland) as part of her studies towards the STEP Scotland Diploma in Trusts and Estates.
The Diploma is a recognised industry standard which demonstrates expertise in the law and procedures involved in trust and estate administration, tax and accounting in Scotland.
She has been recognised by STEP as one of the top students for the first half of 2016, having achieved a distinction and the highest score for her course and will now feature in the December issue of the STEP journal as one of the highest-scoring students per course worldwide.
STEP is the leading professional body for more than 20,000 members across the world who provide advice to families to assist them plan their affairs. STEP operates across 95 countries and its members include lawyers, accountants and other wealth management specialists.
Ms Bryce MacKay joined Gillespie Macandrew in October 2015 and works within the Private Client team in The Fair City where she advises on a variety of issues such as succession and Inheritance Tax planning, executry administration, trust creation and administration, and the drafting of Wills and Powers of Attorney.
She also has experience in the administration of charities. Lindsay regularly travels across Tayside and Fife to meet with clients who are unable to travel to the office.
